Hey! My name is Tayyibah Chase. I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of Muna Wellness. I am a Black woman, the mother of an amazing strong-willed daughter, a spouse, an artist, and a native of P.G. County, Maryland. I’ll be your guide to harnessing your strengths, exploring your innate creativity, and choosing your path.

I grew up in a multicultural, blended household with four sisters. Chaos, grit, and laughter were a constant in our home. Growing up in a big family, I understand that relationships and family dynamics are not simple, they are complex and layered with emotion. Relationships of all kinds can be tricky to navigate, but I enjoy finding ways to help my clients understand themselves better and make the changes they desire.

I opened Muna Wellness in 2021 after years of working in community mental health and group practice settings. I wanted to create a sanctuary for mental and emotional well-being. As a therapist, I provide an environment for you to be yourself as we work together to find healing and truth.

Becoming a parent

My daughter brought her love and fierce spirit to our home by joining my husband and me prematurely. As a mom, I quickly learned how difficult it is to let go and give yourself space. As a spouse, I learned the importance of feeling heard and seen even if it didn’t make sense to my husband’s engineer brain.

Through my healing journey, I deeply understand what it’s like to have a therapist who gets where you're coming from, either through experience or expertise. After the premature birth of my daughter, accompanied by a NICU stay, I decided to further my expertise by getting certified in perinatal mental health. I wanted to be able to support other moms like me, moms who endured the sleepless nights, the tears, and the rage.

For many mothers, we’re feeling undersupported, lost, worried and confused. Don’t worry mama, I’m right there with you. I want to help you become the mother you desire to be, without neglecting your needs or sacrificing your sanity.
