Holistic Therapy for Mind, Body, and Emotional Wellness

Holistic Therapy For People of Color in California

I work with clients who sometimes feel 'stuck' in a world that doesn't validate their experience. At times they might be juggling full-time jobs, passion projects, and parenthood, while still making time for a social life. Many are also uncovering the effects of past traumas or life circumstances and actively looking to foster better relationship habits, increase self-esteem, and find balance through holistic therapy.

Feeling stuck?

Right now, you might be at your wit's end. You may not feel clear on what’s right for you at the moment or might be wondering how to process something big that happened in your life. A lack of clarity and direction can leave us feeling swamped and overloaded with emotions we don’t know how to deal with. Facing stuck points in life is completely natural, but there is also a way through that can guide us toward clarity and authenticity.

So, Where do we begin?

The process of holistic therapy

Intake and Introduction

The beginning stages of therapy are all about getting to know you so that I can better support you and your needs. We learn about your past and present so that we can set goals for the future. We’ll do a comprehensive assessment and set realistic goals that will guide you throughout your therapy journey.

Doing the work

This is the nitty gritty and to be honest it isn’t always pretty. During the middle phase of therapy is when we try new things like communication techniques, mindfulness, and habit building. It’s tough at first, but effective change doesn’t happen easily. But don’t worry when you try something new that works it feels really good.

Making the transition

My job isn’t to have clients in therapy forever. It’s to help clients equip themselves with tools they will continue using outside of therapy. The goal is to build enough self-awareness and practice to continue your work outside of therapy. We’ll recap everything you’ve gathered and get you on your way.

What is holistic therapy?

I offer clients a comfortable space to be their authentic selves in a world that often doesn't support authenticity. I believe in the importance of exploring the various aspects of our identities, both visible and invisible. In session we talk about the impacts of culture and relationships on your emotional well-being. Together we might explore relationship and attachment patterns and identify ways to make shifts in your relationships. With a background in expressive arts therapy, I utilize creative approaches such as writing and drawing to help clients process emotions and discover new meaning in their lives. I also introduce practical skill building, so that you have tangible tools to walk away with. Collaboratively we can explore ways to refine your narratives.

Holistic psychotherapy emphasizes the connection between mind, body, and spirit. It integrates various therapeutic approaches to address not only the emotional and mental aspects of well-being but also the physical, social, and spiritual dimensions. By considering the whole person, holistic therapy helps clients develop a deeper sense of self-awareness and balance, allowing for more meaningful and sustainable changes.

Concerns I support with:

  • Anxiety and Depression can be a totally normal response to something happening in our lives. But there are times where it starts limit how much we are able to enjoy things we once enjoyed. Receiving support for anxiety and depression doesn't mean your not strong or capable it just means you haven't discovered a way to get through and that's where professional help comes in.

  • Pregnancy and postpartum can bring a world of unknowns. Whether it's your first time around or you've done it before, there's no way to predict how our minds and bodies will respond to this journey. As a perinatal mental health professional I am here to guide you through the unknowns and support you in managing things like anxiety, worry, stress, and overall planning. I can also h

  • Struggles with identity and self-image can leave you feeling disconnected, unsure of who you are, or constantly comparing yourself to others. These challenges often stem from past experiences or societal pressures that shape how we see ourselves. Therapy provides a space to explore your true self, build confidence, and develop a more authentic and positive self-image.

  • Unresolved childhood trauma can show up in adulthood as anxiety, trust issues, or feeling "stuck" in unhealthy patterns. These early experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others, often causing emotional pain that feels hard to shake. Therapy helps unpack these old wounds, offering tools to break free from the past and build healthier relationships and self-worth.

  • Struggles in relationships, like feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck in the same old patterns, often trace back to how we learned to connect with others growing up. Therapy helps you make sense of your attachment style, work through past hurts, and build stronger, more satisfying connections with the people in your life.
